The outline of our project is to take a manual transmission and automate it with computer operated actuators. The computer will take in information from the vehicle (wheel speed, engine speed, and throttle position) and then send appropriate signals to actuators that will shift through the gears.
This design has the ease of driving an automatic transmission without the power loss and other disadvantages from the traditional automatic transmission design, all done without modifying the clutch or the transmission!
